About Roma Imports

In 1999, Lilian Spieth took a bold step and acquired a modest wholesale Italian food business in Tucson's historic Barrio San Antonio district—Roma Imports of America. Although Lilian had no prior business experience, her passion for exceptional food and her strong work ethic were undeniable. Despite its less-than-ideal location and minimal foot traffic, the business began to thrive. The secret to Roma Imports' success? Listening intently to customers and consistently delivering the highest quality Italian food with the finest ingredients, all at the best prices. Word spread, and within a few years, Roma Imports transformed from a wholesale operation serving local restaurants into a bustling Italian retail store, restaurant, delicatessen, and catering hub.

Today, while Roma Imports still provides some dedicated local restaurateurs with homemade sausages and specialty Italian items, it has become a beloved destination for everyone. If you're a fan of Italian cuisine—whether it's lasagna, ziti, homemade marinara, ravioli, eggplant Parmesan, pizza, or overstuffed Italian sandwiches—Roma Imports is the place to be. We offer hard-to-find olive oils, DOP tomatoes, specialty cheeses, and imported goods that aren't available in regular grocery stores.

Our eight refrigerators and freezers are stocked with traditional Italian and international entrees, many made fresh in our own kitchen. Lilian’s diverse culinary background—born in Calcutta, raised in Israel, and seasoned by years in Europe—brings a unique flair to our offerings. From Saag Paneer and Indian curries to homemade Spätzle, Lamb Moussaka, and Shepherd's Pie, our menu reflects Lilian’s international touch.

At Roma Imports, it’s all about serving up good, tasty, and healthy food made from scratch. Come by and experience it for yourself—and don’t forget to say hello to Lilian. She’s still here, still listening, and always ready to welcome you.
