About Roma Imports

In 1999 Lilian Spieth bought a small wholesale Italian Food business in the historic Barrio San Antonio district of Tucson, called Roma Imports of America. She had never owned a business before but was passionate about good food and no stranger to hard work. The location wasn’t ideal, and few would be driving by. But the business grew. Roma’s secret to success…listen to what customers want and give them the best quality Italian food, using the finest ingredients, for the best price. Customers told their friends and in a few years Roma Imports had evolved from a wholesale Italian food business serving local restaurants to a flourishing Italian retail store, restaurant, delicatessen and catering enterprise serving all things delicious.

Although Roma Imports still supplies some loyal local restauranteurs with homemade sausage and other specialty Italian items this former wholesale outlet is for everyone. If you love Italian food, lasagnas, Ziti, homemade Marinara, Ravioli, Eggplant Parmesan, Pizza, over-stuffed Italian sandwiches and authentic Italian home cooking, Roma Imports is the place to dine and shop. We stock hard to find olive oils, DOP tomatoes, specialty cheeses, and imported items you won’t find in your grocery store.

And, we have eight refrigerators and freezers filled with traditional Italian and International entrees and fixings for your table, most made on the premises in our own kitchen. Some Roma frozen entrees reflect Lilian’s international flare for cooking. She was born in Calcutta, raised in Israel, and lived in Europe for many years. As a result, Lilian can cook in several languages. So, if you occasionally crave Saag Paneer, Indian curries, homemade Spätzle, Lamb Moussaka, or Shepard’s Pie, Roma Imports will not disappoint.

It’s just good, tasty, healthy, cooked-from-scratch kind of food. Come by for a taste…and don’t forget to stop in and meet Lilian. She is still listening.
